Chris Armbrust, founder of Marin Digital, has been doing automated measurement systems since he started his career at Hewlett Packard (back when Bill and Dave still roamed the halls – and managed by walking around – the hands-on MBA).
The first systems that Chris used consisted of multiple bays of equipment and computers costings hundreds of thousands of dollars (in 1970’s dollars). Today, he has been able to implement measurement solutions with more capability that are connected and accessible that cost in the tens, hundreds or just thousands of dollars. These cost reductions mean that IoT is now an enabling technology for a raft of new solutions to problems that have existed for years.
The possibilities are amazing.
